Head out of Melbourne  ‘On the Beach’ with the cyclists favourite ride. Then connect to ‘Mangroves and Marsh Magic’ which will take you all the way to the Cowes ferry. Stay the night in Cowes.

With the wind in your hair and your cares left behind, hop on the ‘Phillip Island Explorer’ to cycle the island highlights.

Finish your tour with the marvellous views of ‘Westernport Lookouts’ and cycle over the century old ‘Bass Coast Rail Trail’  trestle bridge with the wild oceans thundering beside you. Have a hot coffee and yummy local produce at the Kilcunda General Store.

Or keep going to Inverloch along the spectacular ‘Bunurong Coastal Ride’. Relax for the night in the cruisy little hamlet of Inverloch. Drop back to Wonthaggi through the rolling green dairy country and board the Bus with Bikes, to Cowes, the ferry and the train.

We think this ride will take you three days including travel home to Melbourne.

Let us know if you need to hire a bikepacking set with all the cycling travel gear including the panniers. We can drop them to Melbourne for you and we will collect them in Inverloch or the local area. Approx $800 for 2 bikes and 5 days of cycling. We will help you choose a Cycle Wayz app route.

    • Hi Jenny,

We have the Brisbane to Sydney ride uploaded on the Cyclewayz app from Surfers Paradise to Newcastle. It is currently free and is the set of pins on the app that run down the NSW Coast. We love the ride between these two locations – its quiet and beautiful. You can access both of these locations by train easily from the airports in Bris and Syd. Exiting Brisbane is not too pretty (although you can do it safely on Bike paths) and cycling into Sydney is not very safe. We have mapped these if you want them but we are looking to improve them especially the Sydney end.

      The ride is
Surfers to Lismore; Lismore to Grafton;Grafton to Coffs Harbour;Coffs Harbour to Port Macquarie; Port Macquarie to Taree; Taree to Newcastle; Fernleigh Rail Trail. Shortly these will become a single ride as we go to paid.

Its a great ride and we hope you enjoy it, be careful with the bushfires – let us know your feedback!

      Thanks Angela
